Mobile Ventilation Laboratory Fume Hood
A laboratory fume hood or exhaust hood is a ventilation unit designed to limit exposure to hazardous or toxic fumes, vapors,or dust.Air is drawn from the laboratory room into a fume hood and then dissipated into the atmosphere.

Recommendations for effective use of the fume hood
1. Make sure the fume hood has been checked within the last 12 months.
2. Read the safety data sheets for the materials used in the fume hood. Pay attention in advance to the physical, chemical and toxicological properties of the materials used.
3. Turn on the lights for proper illumination.
4. Keep the fume hood clear of clutter and unused materials. Do not use the extractor hood for long-term storage. Storage reduces airflow and reduces the fume hood's capturing efficiency.
5. All work must be carried out at least six inches from the front of the fume hood.
6. When using large equipment, mount it on blocks to provide a two-inch airflow gap under the equipment.
7. Always lower the sash when not operating the fume hood.
8. Never hide your head in the fume hood during the experiment.
9. Avoid quick movements while working or walking in front of the fume hood. Fast movements can cause turbulence or backwash resulting in hazardous vapor release.
10. For hot or lighter-than-air connections, position a baffle so that air exits from the top of the fume hood.
11. For normal operation, place the baffle in the center position.
12. For heavier-than-air connections, install a baffle to vent most of the air out of the bottom vent.
13. Fume hoods should not be used to remove unwanted materials. The cap of the bottle with unwanted materials must cover the container.
