4. Warning devices or signs should be installed on the obvious parts or doors of the experimental areas or rooms where personnel are restricted to enter. In addition to warning devices or signs, the storage room for radioactive sources should also be equipped with fire prevention, anti-theft and alarm devices and other facilities.
Protection against chemical hazards:
1. The design of the radioisotope laboratory shall comply with the regulations.
2. All laboratories that conduct experiments on harmful gases, steam, odors, smoke, and volatile substances to the human body should be equipped with fume hoods.
3. In laboratories where strong acids and alkalis are often used and there is a risk of chemical burns, emergency showers and emergency eye irrigators should be installed near the exit.
4. The treatment and disposal of waste gas, waste liquid and solid waste in the radioisotope laboratory shall comply with the relevant current national regulations.
5. Laboratories that must store a small amount of chemical hazards for daily use should be equipped with special chemical storage cabinets or fume hoods that are ventilated continuously for 24 hours.
6. Laboratories containing mercury should be equipped with special fume hoods. The ground, floor, wall, ceiling, test bench, door, window, etc. of this type of laboratory should be made of materials that do not crack, absorb, or leak, and should be equipped with mercury collection tanks, ditches, bottles, etc. . The ground and floor should have a slope of no less than 1%, the gutter and floor drain should have the function of collecting lost mercury, and the lower part of the room should be equipped with an air outlet.
